As a business owner it is important to keep up to date with laws and regulations that relate to your business.
If you have licences and other regulations that you have to meet, ensure you have a source, such as a Chamber of Commerce, where you can be updated with the necessary information.
But equally as important is finding a way to bounce ideas and get help from like-minded people.
Networking is extremely important, particularly with others who are in a similar role to you.
When your business is bigger, you might look for organisations such as Vistage, but when you are just starting out that can be a difficult and expensive option.
But if you are in the United States, you can possibly get mentoring assistance for free through an organisation called ‘SCORE’.
There video is included below, and on their YouTube page they say:
“You have access to an entire team of professional mentors with expertise in marketing, sales, finance and more. We will examine your ideas, verify the numbers and help you decide on the best way to open your business. But we don’t just send you on your way. We’re with you every step of the way, from dream to startup to growth. Find your mentor at www.score.org/mentors”
This can be very helpful when you are starting out and we recommend you contact them.
